2015-16 NBA Midseason Update – Central Division

We’re a little more than halfway through the 2015-16 NBA season. It’s the perfect time to check in on every team and look back at our preseason previews to see how we did. Next up is the Southeast Division.


Current Record: 35-13

Projected Record: 60-22

Preseason Projection: 55-27

Biggest Surprise:

There’s nothing surprising about this team. They’re the best team in the East but not the best team in the league.

Biggest Disappointment:

Timofey Mozgov has not built on his great Finals performance.


Current Record: 26-21

Projected Record: 45-37

Preseason Projection: 45-37

Biggest Surprise:

Doug McDermott is actually contributing this year.

Biggest Disappointment:

Joakim Noah was not having a good season and now he’s out for the year.


Current Record: 20-31

Projected Record: 32-50

Preseason Projection: 45-37

Biggest Surprise:

This team hasn’t had any good surprises. Plenty of bad ones though.

Biggest Disappointment:

The whole team is disappointing. It’s not really any one player either.


Current Record: 26-23

Projected Record: 44-38

Preseason Projection: 42-40

Biggest Surprise:

Paul George has come back even better than he was two years ago.

Biggest Disappointment:

Rodney Stuckey was decent last year. Can’t say that this year. He’s shot horribly.


Current Record: 26-24

Projected Record: 43-39

Preseason Projection: 36-46

Biggest Surprise:

Andre Drummond has gotten even better and earned his first All-Star appearance.

Biggest Disappointment:

Brandon Jennings hasn’t been good since he came back from injury.
