2015-16 Outlook:

Wow. If you thought Dallas’ offseason was bad, look at what happened in Portland. I think they knew Aldridge would be leaving so they decide to blow the whole thing up. It’s sad because last year’s team looked really good at times. It wasn’t hard to imagine them in the finals with just a few improvements. Well, now there’s no chance for this team. At least not this year.

You can see above who they lost. That’s four starters and the guy they brought in to start when one of those starters got hurt. That five they lost would compete for a top four seed in the east. They had to bring in someone to replace those guys though.

The first thing the Blazers did was make some trades. On the day before the draft they sent Batum to Portland for Vonleh and Henderson. Then on the day of the draft, they traded their first round pick for the better Plumlee and a second round pick they would use to draft Notre Dame guard Pat Connaughton. In free agency they brought in a couple of former lottery picks, Al-Farouq Aminu and Ed Davis, who should get more minutes than they ever have.

This is Damian Lillard’s team now. He’s the one star they kept. Portland is looking to quickly rebuild around Lillard and C.J. McCollum. They’re very much still in the middle of that rebuild and not much should be expected from them.

2015-16 Projected Record: 34-48
