2015-16 Outlook:

The Kings haven’t been god in forever. They were especially bad last year considering DeMarcus Cousins finally became an All-Star. With all the high draft picks they’ve had, why can’t they find another good player? How are they not even winning 30 games?¬†Will they win 30 this year?

The Kings weren’t content with those 29 wins from last year. They cleared cap room to try to bring in a big name free agent. None of the big ones wanted to come but they ended up with Rajon Rondo, Marco Belinelli, and Kosta Koufos. These weren’t bad signings but Rondo is risky. He used to be great but last year was a disaster for him.

They also added Willie Cauley-Stein in the draft. The Kings have had problems with the guys they drafted not even contributing. I think Cauley-Stein will be an effective player but he doesn’t have a high ceiling. This was the right move by Sacramento as they already have a star big man.

The Kings traded Stauskas and Thompson to clear up cap space. I think they got back better players in free agency to replace them. They also let Derrick Williams go. He’s another disappointing high draft pick but at least he wasn’t their own.

Sacramento has built a solid team. Will all the pieces fit well though? Rondo is a huge question mark and DeMarcus Cousins has issues. I think we know now that Rudy Gay is not a star but is he even good? He should be. This team will be better but it’s unlikely they’ll improve enough to make the playoffs. They should suck again and get another high pick.

2015-16 Projected Record: 36-46
