2015 College Bowl Preview – The Unwatchabowls

We’re nearing the end of the year and you know that means. It’s bowl season. Starting today you can watch the first of I think 722 bowls this year. No, it’s not that many, but there are a lot which means there are a lot of shitty teams playing, usually against each other. We don’t recommend watching those unless you’re a real die hard fan. These are the worst bowls, the unwatchabowls, perhaps.

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl (Dec 19)

Arkansas St. (9-3) Vs. Louisiana Tech (8-4)

Arkansas St. has the better record but that doesn’t mean they’re the better team. They were blown out by USC and Toledo.

Winner: Louisiana Tech

Raycom Media Camellia Bowl (Dec 19)

Ohio (8-4) Vs. Appalachian St. (10-2)

Appalachian St. lost only two games this year and one of them was against #1 Clemson. We don’t think they’ll lose again.

Winner: Appalachian St.

Cure Bowl (Dec 19)

San Jose St. (5-7) Vs. Georgia St. (6-6)

Georgia St. is just happy to be here. It’s their first bowl and only their sixth season as a program. San Jose St. won one fewer game but they play in a much better conference.

Winner: San Jose St.

Gildan New Mexico Bowl (Dec 19)

Arizona (6-6) Vs. New Mexico (7-5)

Arizona had a disappoiting year and probably doesn’t care too much about this game and New Mexico is playing at home so you would think they would have a chance. Arizona has so much more talent though.

Winner: Arizona

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (Dec 22)

Akron (7-5) Vs. Utah St. (6-6)

Utah St. has the best player on the field in Chuckie Keeton. They should win.

Winner: Utah St.

GoDaddy Bowl (Dec 23)

Georgia Southern (8-4) Vs. Bowling Green (10-3)

Bowling Green isn’t bad Georgia Southern definitely is.

Winner: Bowling Green

Popeyes Bahamas Bowl (Dec 24)

Middle Tennessee St. (7-5) Vs. Western Michigan (7-5)

These teams have identical records but Western Michigan played a much tougher schedule, including games against Michigan St. and Ohio St.

Winner: Western Michigan

St. Petersburg Bowl (Dec 26)

Connecticut (6-6) Vs. Marshall (9-3)

UConn is only 6-6 but they won three of their last four and play in a slightly better conference.

Winner: Connecticut

Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl (Dec 26)

Washington (6-6) Vs. Southern Miss (9-4)

In three out of Washington’s last five games they blew out their opponents. These were conference games too.

Winner: Washington

Camping World Independence Bowl (Dec 26)

Tulsa (6-6) Vs. Virginia Tech (6-6)

In Frank Beamer’s last game his players will be properly motivated to win. I think Beamer will finish his great career with a bowl win.

Winner: Virginia Tech

Quick Lane Bowl (Dec 28)

Central Michigan (7-5) Vs. Minnesota (5-7)

Central Michigan was kind of solid this year with some close losses to good teams. Minnesota had an awful finish to the year.

Winner: Central Michigan

NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl (Dec 29)

Nevada (6-6) Vs. Colorado St. (7-5)

Nevada and Colorado St. are in the same conference and they’re playing each other in a bowl game. Has that ever happened before? CSU had the better record overall and in conference play.

Winner: Colorado St.
