2015 MLB Season in Review – Chicago Cubs

CUBS_LOGO2015 Record: 97-65

Preseason Projection: 90-72

Runs Per Game: 4.22 (17th)

Team ERA: 3.36 (3rd)

Run Differential: +81 (6th)

What Went Right:

Kris Bryant was the real deal. He was their best player, even as a rookie. Fellow rookies Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber were solid as well. Anthony Rizzo was an All-Star again.

Jake Arrieta won the Cy Young. That was pretty good. Jon Lester wasn’t a bad number two behind Arrieta.

What Went Wrong:

Jorge Soler wasn’t very good. Starlin Castro had another poor season after bouncing back in 2014.

Player to Watch?:

With Addison Russell and Starlin Castro, Baez spent most of the year in AAA. He doesn’t have a spot to play this upcoming season either.

There’s Always Next Year:

The Cubs made some big moves and they went to the NLCS last year. They’re the favorite to win it all at this point.

How Did We Do:

Most people didn’t have the Cubs winning 90 games and making the playoffs. We did so I count that as a win.
