2015 MLB Season in Review – Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa_RAYs_Logo2015 Record: 80-82

Preseason Projection: 80-82

Runs Per Game: 3.98 (25th)

Team ERA: 3.74 (11th)

Run Differential: +2 (16th)

What Went Right:

Kevin Kiermaier’s defense was fucking awesome. Check this out.

Evan Longoria put in another season of above average offense and defense. Logan Forsythe developed into a really solid middle infielder. Chris Archer was great as a pitcher and even better as a broadcaster for Fox during the playoffs.

What Went Wrong:

After a couple of solid years in Tampa, James Loney was awful. Nick Franklin wasn’t able to turn his career around with a new team. Desmond Jennings missed most of the year. Drew Smyly missed a bunch of games. Matt Moore finally came back but he sucked.

Player to Watch?:

Jake Odorizzi had a good year. He definitely wasn’t their best pitcher though. Archer established himself as the ace.

There’s Always Next Year:

The Rays have a good group of young pitchers that might get even better. The offense needs to start scoring some more runs though. They need another offensive star if they want to compete.

How Did We Do:

Perfect! We just knew the Rays would win 80 games.
