The Cardinals won 11 games last year even though their starting quarterback missed more than half the season. They had the second worst running game last year but they added a big name to the offensive line in Mike Iupati at guard. We should be high on this team then. Well, the problem is that quarterback who’s coming back is old and he always get hurt. He’ll probably get hurt again. That big free agent acquisition, Mike Iupati, is frequently listed among the most overrated players. He’s hurt too. He could miss the first six weeks of the season. There’s little chance the offense is even average this year.
This team is built around its defense. That’s their reputation. They have some legitimate defensive stars in Patrick Peterson and Calais Campbell. They lost four starters though. I think the defense will still be good just not as good as they have been the past couple of years. They were lucky to win seven games last year. They’re worse this year which could mean a steep decline in wins.
