2015 NFL Season in Review – Cleveland Browns

CLE_BROWNS_LOGO2015 Record: 3-13

Preseason Projection: 6-10

2015 Offense: 18.7 PTS/G (28th)

2015 Defense: 27.0 PTS/G (29th)

What Went Right:

Gary Barnidge came out of nowhere to become one of the game’s top tight ends.

What Went Wrong:

Josh McCown wasn’t bad when he played but he was always hurt. That forced Johnny Manziel into the starting role where he just wasn’t very good. The running game didn’t give him any help either.

The defense as a whole wasn’t good. Most disappointing was the play of 2014’s top ten pick, Justin Gilbert, who failed to make an impact in the small number of snaps he played in.

How Did We Do:

We didn’t have the Browns as a playoff team but we thought they would win six games. We knew the offense would struggle but we thought the defense was solid with guys like Joe Haden, Donte Whitner, and Karlos Dansby but it wasn’t.

New coach Hue Jackson will be finding a new quarterback, most likely with the second pick in the draft. That probably means no playoffs next year as a rookie QB adjusts to the NFL.
