2016 NBA Playoff Preview – (3) Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. (6) Dallas Mavericks

With Kevin Durant healthy, the Thunder (55-27) are back in the playoffs where they will face Dirk Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks (42-40) who are making a surprise appearance in this postseason.

The Thunder have two of the games’ best players in Durant and Russell Westbrook. With both of them healthy they went right back to being one of the best teams in the NBA. The best duo in the NBA still hasn’t won a championship though. I have a feeling they won’t really be thinking about this series but future matchups with the Spurs and Warriors.

The Mavericks weren’t expected to be here. After losing out on DeAndre Jordan, we expected the Mavericks to tank and start the rebuilding process. Rick Carlisle wouldn’t allow that and they finished 2 games over .500, somehow good enough for the 6th seed.

Let’s be honest, the Mavericks aren’t very good. Them winning 42 games just proves how good of a coach Rick Carlisle is. The Thunder are so much more talented. I would be shocked if more than one of the games in this series are close.

The Pick: Thunder in 4
