2016 NFL Preview – NFC South

The Panthers not only won this division last year, but they had the best record in the entire NFL. They finished 7 games ahead of the 2nd place Falcons. Can any team possibly unseat Carolina?

Carolina Panthers

2015 Record: 15-1

GREG_OLSEN_PANTHERS

The Panthers had a pretty magical season last year, it just didn’t end in a championship. We don’t see a repeat of last year as a possibility, which doesn’t mean they aren’t contenders. They’ll win this division but 14+ wins is a long-shot.

Projected Record: 11-5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2015 Record: 6-10

JAMEIS_WINSTON_BUCS_2

Jameis Winston is heading into his second year and is sure to get better. It doesn’t hurt to have Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson to throw to either. This seems like a team ready to take the next step towards the playoffs. They’re not there just yet, but they have a solid foundation.

Projected Record: 8-8

Atlanta Falcons

2015 Record: 8-8

DEVONTA_FREEMAN_FALCONS

So Julio Jones is still in Atlanta. And Devonta Freeman should put up some numbers again this year. But there’s not much else around them and QB Matt Ryan. They’re not an elite offense. That’s a problem with the defense they do have. They still don’t have the talent on that side of the ball to make them even average.

Projected Record: 7-9

New Orleans Saints

2015 Record: 7-9

DREW_BREES_SAINTS

Is this Drew Brees’ last run? According to rumors he’s looking for a 4 year deal, so it’s not the end in his opinion. But we’re not as sure. But even if he something left in the tank, it won’t be enough. They haven’t done much to improve their last ranked defense. Brees might need to throw for 6,000 yards for us to see a winning season in New Orleans.

Projected Record: 6-10
