The NBA Draft is today and it’s really shaping up to be one of the most boring ones ever. Most experts think there are only two good prospects and we already know where they’re going to land (Simmons to the 76ers, Ingram to the Lakers). But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any prospects that have caught our attention. Now the following 5 aren’t who we think are the 3rd-7th best players. These are the players who we are most intrigued by.
Buddy Hield (SG – Oklahoma)
Hield proved he could score in college. But will he be able to in the NBA and can he do it efficiently. He could be a better version of Jamal Crawford or he might not even be good enough to ever get off the bench. We’re hoping for the former.
Domantas Sabonis (PF/C – Gonzaga)
Yes this is the son of basketball legend Arvydas Sabonis but Domantas is a good player on his own. But the reason he’s on our list is his father. Let’s be honest.
Thon Maker (C)
Maker is a 7 footer from Sudan who later played his high school ball in Australia. Now he’ll be the first high-schooler take in the draft in over ten years. How? Isn’t that not allowed anymore? Well Maker spent 5 years in high school. Regardless, Maker is 7’1″ with an impressive vertical. He has great upside.
Dragan Bender (C)
A lot of NBA prospect experts have said that Dragan Bender is the most interesting prospect. A lot of experts also say that he could be the next European star. It’s hard to know much about Bender considering he played in Croatia, but these NBA experts seem pretty high on the kid which makes us excited to see what he can do. Also his name’s Dragon, almost.
Jaylen Brown (G/F – California)
Jaylen Brown played his college ball at California and was a stand out player. He had a lot of hype going into his Freshmen year and now has a lot of hype going into the draft. He hasn’t gotten as much spotlight for a guard as someone like Buddy Hield, but Brown should be able to help out whatever team decides to take him. He’s an exciting player with a good jump shot.
