Every month Microsoft releases two free games. Here is the gamer’s guide to which ones are worth the precious storage space. April’s Games With Gold.
April is shaping up to be the best month of Games With Gold we’ve ever seen since the launch of the Xbox One. I would say both these games deserve a download, but here is a small preview of what they are. Always remember that if you download it while it is free, it is then stored as purchased item in the Xbox marketplace. Even if you do not play it for months, or delete it off your hard drive. You will always be able to go back and re download it.
The Wolf Among Us
Another game from the group that seems to be pouring them out left and right. Tell Tale Games are known for their strong story driven games. They are never the lengthiest games, but I’ve never known anyone to complain about the length of a game when the price comes out to free fifty. If you’ve never played a Tell Tale game the artwork is a bit animated, like it was ripped right out of a comic book. Which is somewhat fitting because a lot of there work is based off of those types of literature. This game in particular is set as a prequel to the comic book series written by Bill Willingham’s “Fables”. The Wolf Among Us is a dark, gritty, and at some points, emotional campaign. You play as Bigby Wolf aka The Big Bad Wolf in this 1986 mystery investigation. Fabletown is where you reside, and this town is in your care to ensure that everything stays in order. Play through the adventure and you may just run into some familiar fables of old.
This game is a must download! Insomniac games is known for their creative and original approach with games like Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. This game is a wild and crazy fun time. You begin your adventures waking up in Sunset City, but something went totally wrong at the FizzCo release last night. While debuting their new energy drink Overcharge Delirium XT, consumers began to turn into zombie-like monsters! This may be due to the fact that FizzCo may have skipped a few health regulations in order to sell their killer energy drink faster, but that’s neither here nor there. With your fully customizable character you can grind the streets of Sunset City, unlock new crazy ass guns, and explode those zombies into the energy drink puddle that they should be. Sunset Overdrive is a crude, hilarious, and flat out fun game.
