The Giants are Showing off their “Even Year” Magic Already

The Giants are on quite a roll as of late, winning 13 of their last 14 games. This shouldn’t come as a surprise though. It is 2016, an even year. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the Giants won the World Series in 2010, then 2012, and then in 2014 too. They didn’t reach the postseason in 2011 or 2013 or 2015 either. If you think this is bullshit, that they don’t have any magic, you should see just how they’ve won 13 of 14.

During this streak, they’ve averaged under 4 runs per game, 3.5 to be exact. That would be worse than all but 3 teams this season. They only scored more than 5 runs once. So how are they winning so much? Amazing pitching obviously, and maybe a little magic.

They’ve only allowed 30 runs in the 14 games. That’s ridiculous. Only a little over 2 runs per game. Only twice have they allowed more than 3 runs. And in one of those games they allowed 8 (their only loss). If you ignore that game, they’re only allowing 1.7 runs per game. That’s like having Clayton Kershaw start every game. But they don’t have Kershaw. Sure, they have All-Stars in Bumgarner and Johnny Cueto, but they’re also throwing out Matt Cain and Jake Peavy and getting fantastic results. This could only be explained by magic.

Most fans are hoping the Giants magic runs out before October. 4 championships in 7 years just shouldn’t happen in baseball.
