One of the most famous athletes in the world, Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of 74. Ali was a heavyweight champion and considered by many to be the greatest boxer of all time. He was a larger than life figure; an inspiration, an activist and even a pariah to some.
Ali famously refused to serve in the military after being drafted in 1967 and was forced out of boxing during some of his prime years. After he came back in 1970, he lost to Joe Frazier ruining his undefeated record. However he would defeat Frazier twice afterwards in two of the most famous boxing matches ever.
Ali was as powerful a symbol as he was a boxer but don’t forget just how good he was.
