What Happened at Comic-Con This Weekend

Comic-Con started in the 70’s as a convention for comic book fans to meet and talk with each other as well as with the creators of this media they all enjoyed. Since then, it has become a massive marketing event for all types of entertainment. Most of the big movie franchises have a presence, even ones that have no connection to comics. As a fan of these movies, I don’t have a problem with this evolution. Comic-Con means a bunch of new trailers get released. Here’s some of the big ones from this weekend:

Wonder Woman

We got our first look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and were all left wanting more. Even though the movie wasn’t too good, Wonder Woman was a bright spot. Let’s hope this one is good though.

Justice League

Speaking of Batman, here he is recruiting some members for his Justice League. This already looks better than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The LEGO Batman Movie

More Batman, but this is a little less serious. Just a little though.

Kong: Skull Island

Yeah, there’s another new King Kong movie. The cast looks great with Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston as the leads joined by the great Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

The Harry Potter spin-off comes out in just a few months but here’s a new trailer.

Doctor Strange

Now we move over to Marvel starting with their big fall movie, Doctor Strange.

Luke Cage and Iron Fist

We’ve already had two seasons of Daredevil (and a season of Jessica Jones) but Netflix isn’t done with Marvel shows. Here’s trailers for their next two.

Blair Witch

I was recently wondering why they haven’t tried rebooting the Blair Witch series. Well, apparently they already have as this comes out in September.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Guy Ritchie and Charlie Hunnam unite for another retelling of the King Arthur story.

The X-Men franchise is getting into the TV game as well. The series is being made by Noah Hawley, the mastermind behind the fantastic Fargo TV series.

The Walking Dead (Season 7)

Who will Negan kill? This trailer won’t tell you. But there’s Tigers so it’s worth watching.
