Chris Christie is known for having a larger appetite, but this is getting a little out of hand. A New Jersey watchdog report shows that New Jersey Govenor, Chris Christie, spent $82,000 on concessions while at Jets and Giants games in 2010 and 2011. The figures were discovered due to an investigation by the New Jersey watchdog that looked into Christie’s expense account. Christie is paid $175,000 per year, and also has access to a $95,000 annual expense account. Over the time spent in office the governor has managed to spend $360,000 from the account, with an estimated 80% of that being used on food and drinks. In light of this news a spokesman has said, “The official nature and business purpose of the event remains the case regardless of whether the event is at the State House, Drumthwacket, or a sporting venue.” The New Jersey Republican State Committee had already reimbursed the state’s treasury in March of 2012 for these expenditures. However, there was no public knowledge of these expenses at the time. Since the reimbursement Governor Christie has not used the expense account at any sports venue.
