Byrd’s Wings Have Been Clipped For 162 Games

Cleveland Indians outfielder, Marlon Byrd, has been suspended for 162 for testing positive for the growth hormone secretagogue Ipamorelin. The MLB is suspending Byrd for this period of time without pay.

The reason Byrd was punished so hard was because back in 2012 he was suspended 50 games for testing positive for Tamoxifen. Marlon Byrd is 38 years old and isn’t even an everyday player anymore. By the time this suspension ends it’ll be around this time next year and he’ll be 39 by then. Marlon, I hate to say it, but I think it’s time to hang up the cleats.

A couple MLB pitchers had their opinions about the situation on Twitter.
