2015 Outlook: The Padres were surprisingly solid last year and made a number of moves trying to improve their team even more.  San Diego acquired an entirely new and powerful outfield through trades this offseason.  These additions are welcome as the Padres scored an ML worst 535 runs last year.  In order to make these trades the Padres did have to lose some key contributors but the talent they received is greater than the major league talent they gave up.  They also made a big move in free agency, signing James Shields to head their rotation.  The Padres always have good pitching and this year should be no different.  If the offense is merely average it will be a huge upgrade.  Their offseason moves have set the Padres up  to be competitive but ultimately they don’t have enough talent to win the west.

Player to Watch: Wil Myers – The 2013 AL Rookie of the Year struggled last year but can make his former team regret trading him with a bounce back year.

2015 Projected Record: 85-77
