2015 Outlook:

2015 is an odd numbered year which means the Giants will not win the World Series and not make the playoffs. That has been the pattern since 2009, the year before the Giants won the first of three recent titles. This viewpoint may be logical this year as they weren’t great in the regular season last year and now have lost the heart of their team, Pablo Sandoval.

There may be some reason to think they will be better this year though. Angel Pagan and Matt Cain will be back from injury and Jake Peavy will be with the team for the whole season. However, it is still questionable how good this team really is. A minor step back from 88 wins would mean no playoffs and no chance to defend their title.

Player to Watch: Matt Cain

Cain was on pace for his second straight season with an ERA in the 4’s before getting hurt. It is important for the Giants that not only Cain is healthy but that he returns to his prior form.

2015 Projected Record: 84-78
