Season Series: 2-2
This looks to be another great Western Conference playoff series. The Rockets dominated the Mavericks in the opening round and the Clippers defeated the defending champs in a hard fought seven game series. Both teams should be proud of their round 1 performance but neither will be happy with a loss in this series.
The Houston Rockets showed everyone in round 1 why they should be considered a great team. A healthy Dwight Howard means a lot and this team won 56 games with only half a season played by Howard. Houston has the potential to be great on both ends of the floor. They have a number of good defenders in Howard, Josh Smith, Trevor Ariza, and Corey Brewer. They also have maybe the best offensive weapon in the NBA, James Harden. They will have to play great at both ends to beat the Clippers.
The biggest concern for the Clippers is the health of Chris Paul. They’re not going to beat a really good Houston team if he isn’t healthy. Even with him it will be a fight, especially without home court advantage. However, a healthy Clippers team is the best challenger to the Warriors and are simply better than the Rockets.
