NFL Power Rankings – Week 12

The Patriots lost. They finally lost. The Panthers are the only remaining unbeaten team. Have they passed New England in our rankings?

  1. New England Patriots (10-1)

  2. Carolina Panthers (11-0)

  3. Arizona Cardinals (9-2)

  4. Cincinnati Bengals (9-2)

  5. Denver Broncos (9-2)

The Broncos are coming off their biggest win of the season beating the Patriots this past Sunday. Even though Osweiler beat the Patriots this week, when Manning is healthy he’ll be back to starting for the Broncos.  I still wouldn’t trust Osweiler in a clutch playoff game yet so that’s understandable.

CJ_ANDERSON_BRONCOSThe best sign for the Broncos was that C.J. Anderson looked like his old self, running for 115 yards and two touchdowns last Sunday. If he can get back to old form with Hillman running strong they’ll have a very solid running attack, which could help Manning get back into a groove. Their defense is still one of the best in the league which could take them far in the playoffs.

  6. Green Bay Packers (7-4)

  7. Minnesota Vikings (8-3)

  8. Kansas City Chiefs (6-5)

  9. Seattle Seahawks (6-5)

  10. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5)

  11. Indianapolis Colts (6-5)

  12. New York Jets (6-5)

  13. Houston Texans (6-5)

  14. Atlanta Falcons (6-5)

  15. Buffalo Bills (5-6)

SAMMY_WATKINS_BILLSThe Buffalo Bills still have a chance at the playoffs currently sitting at 5-6. They absolutely need to beat the Houston Texans this weekend or their season is pretty much toast though. They’ve been an interesting team this season with a solid defense and offensive playmakers such as LeSean McCoy, Sammy Watkins and Tyrod Taylor. They just can’t seem to put it together for more than a couple weeks at a time. This is a team that we believe has some promise for the future, but unfortunately they’ll most likely fall short of the playoffs this season.

  16. Oakland Raiders (5-6)

  17. Chicago Bears (5-6)

  18. Washington Redskins (5-6)

  19. New York Giants (5-6)

  20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-6)

  21. Detroit Lions (4-7)

The Lions started off the season really bad at 1-7, but have turned it around a little winning 3 in a row. It seem like Jim Bob Cooter is making a difference.

JIM_BOB_COOTERThis team has no hope in making the playoffs this season but maybe this little win streak can give them and their fans hope. There’s been a lot of talk this year about Calvin Johnson getting traded but fortunately for Lions fans he’s still around. He might be their only reason to watch Lions games this year.

If they beat the Packers this week there might be a small glimmer of hope because they’d only be a game behind Green Bay and would control the season series at 2-0. If that doesn’t happen then the Lions better hope for a solid draft pick and a better season next year.

  22. St. Louis Rams (4-7)

  23. Philadelphia Eagles (4-7)

  24. Miami Dolphins (4-7)

  25. Baltimore Ravens (4-7)

  26. Dallas Cowboys (3-8)

  27. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7)

  28. San Diego Chargers (3-8)

  29. New Orleans Saints (4-7)

  30. Tennessee Titans (2-9)

  31. San Francisco 49ers (3-8)

This team lost a lot of key people in the offseason and it has shown. The 49ers currently sit with a record of 3-8 and are just an awful football team. Their quarterback situation is dreadful with Kaepernick’s awful start to the season and now the Niners are left with Gabbert. They don’t have any good wide receivers or running backs either. They just aren’t a fun team to watch this season.

BLAINE_GABBERT_49ERSI feel bad for the fans because they’ve had so much promise these last 4 years, but this season has just been dreadful. Their division is only getting better and the Niners are getting worse. 49ers fans may be unhappy for a lot of seasons to come.

  32. Cleveland Browns (2-9)

Tony’s Thursday Night Pick

The Packers travel to Detroit in a rematch of week 10’s shocking upset of the Lions over the Packers. After another surprising loss for the Packers against the Bears on Thanksgiving the Packers will be properly motivated. I don’t think the Packers will let themselves be swept by Detroit.

The Pick: Packers -3
