NFL Power Rankings – Week 3

We’re already three weeks into the season. The Steelers host the Ravens tonight to start week 4.

Week 3 Power Rankings

  1. New England Patriots (3-0)

  2. Green Bay Packers (3-0)

  3. Arizona Cardinals (3-0)

  4. Denver Broncos (3-0)

  5. Seattle Seahawks (1-2)

  6. Cincinnati Bengals (3-0)

  7. Buffalo Bills (2-1)

The Bills blew out division rival, Miami Dolphins, taking them to 2-1. That one loss was a close one to the obvious #1 team in the league, New England Patriots. Tyrod Taylor has looked like the best Bills quarterback since Doug Flutie. We knew the defense would be good with Rex Ryan taking over as head coach, but his teams usually struggle on offense. That hasn’t been the case this season as they have scored 33.3 points per game. Although they’ve looked really good they’re looking at a wild card spot at best due to being in the same division as the Patriots.

  8. Atlanta Falcons (3-0)

  9. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)

  10. Kansas City Chiefs (1-2)

  11. Dallas Cowboys (2-1)JOSEPH_RANDLE_COWBOYS

The Cowboys are 0-1 in their first game without Tony Romo. In their defense they lost to the 3-0 Falcons. The good thing for the Dallas Cowboys is that they’re in one of the weaker divisions in football, and soon will get Greg Hardy back from suspension. The offensive line is still playing at a high level as Joseph Randle had 3 touchdowns this past weekend. When they do get everyone back they will be a very dangerous team again.

  12. Carolina Panthers (3-0)

  13. New York Jets (2-1)

  14. Minnesota Vikings (2-1)

  15. Philadelphia Eagles (1-2)

  16. San Diego Chargers (1-2)RIVERS_SACKED

The Chargers again look to be like a .500 team. They’ve won between 7-9 games in the past 5 years, and it looks like that’s where they will finish again this year. Their two losses were against solid teams on the road, but still many of their problems were exposed. Their big problem is the health of their offensive line. All 5 starters missed time during last week’s game, and a few of them may miss more time. With a healthy offensive line they may be a playoff team, but as of right now they don’t appear to be one.

  17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2)

  18. New York Giants (1-2)

  19. Oakland Raiders (2-1)

  20. Baltimore Ravens (0-3)

  21. St. Louis Rams (1-2)

  22. Miami Dolphins (1-2)

  23. Detroit Lions (0-3)

  24. Houston Texans (1-2)

  25. Washington Redskins (1-2)KIRK_COUSINS_REDSKINS

The Redskins are either the best of the horrible teams or the worst of the teams that are not truly awful. They do have a win which is more than some teams can say. The defense has not been a disaster, but the Kirk Cousins offense has not been able to score too many points. They’re not a playoff contender and the franchise is a mess, but at least they can say they’re not the worst team in the league.

  26. San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

  27. Cleveland Browns (1-2)

  28. Tennessee Titans (1-2)

  29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-2)

  30. New Orleans Saints (0-3)

  31. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)

  32. Chicago Bears (0-3)

Tony’s Thursday Night Pick

The Baltimore Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in a must win game for Baltimore. The last team to make the playoffs after starting 0-3 was the 1998 Buffalo Bills. So if Ravens start off 0-4 you can pretty much cancel any chance of them making the playoffs, especially being in a division with the Steelers and Bengals. The Steelers won’t have Ben Roethlisberger, but instead will be led by Michael Vick. Even with Vick the Steelers still have two of the best playmakers in the NFL on their team, Bell and Brown.

The line is currently Steelers +3 because the oddsmakers don’t trust Vick and the Ravens are in a desperate spot. However, with the playmakers Vick has around him he’ll want to come out on Thursday Night Football and prove the world wrong and beat the rival Ravens. What better way to get the Steelers fans on your back than to beat the Baltimore Ravens?

Tony’s Pick: Steelers +3
