I wasn’t sure it would happen. The Golden State Warriors finally lost a game this season. Jason Kidd’s Bucks beat them 108-95 tonight in Milwaukee. The Warriors had won an NBA record 24 straight games to start the season and dating back to last season, had won 28 straight, second best all time.
I’m not sure the Warriors achievement here is being properly recognized. The Carolina Panthers have started the season 12-0 and it’s a big deal. The Warriors 24 in a row is exactly twice as many games. The Warriors have really put themselves into the conversation of “Best Team Ever”.
It was inevitable that they would lose eventually. You just can’t be on every night in a season as long as the NBA’s. I would have liked to see he Warriors go undefeated. I wonder if the NBA would do anything about it.The Warriors still have a great chance at the record of 73 wins in a season though.
This loss does send a message to the rest of the NBA. The Warriors are beatable. They’re beatable in the second night of a back to back, after playing a double overtime game the night before, then flying halfway across the country, without one of their best players.
