Tony’s Football Picks Of The Week – Week 5

New Orleans Saints Vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Saints won their first game of the season this past Sunday against an injured Cowboys team. It came off of a 80 yard CJ Spiller touchdown in OT after the Saints defense gave away the lead to end regulation. I know the Eagles are also 1-3 but I think they’re much better than the Saints, especially at home. The Eagles need to win this week to keep their season hopes alive and I think the Saints are a good candidate.

Tony’s Pick: Eagles -5

Denver Broncos Vs Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have started off better than most expected with a 2-2 record. They welcome the Broncos into town who are 4-0. The past four times the Broncos have faced the Raiders they’ve scored 47,41, 34 and 37 points. Needless to say, the Raiders defense hates facing the Broncos. Raiders defense still isn’t anything special so I don’t see them being able to stop the Broncos that often. The Raiders offense is actually pretty solid this season with weapons such as Carr, Murray and Cooper. I expect a lot of points to be scored in this one.

Tony’s Pick: OVER 44

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs San Diego Chargers

The Steelers are still without quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, so Michael Vick will continue to be the guy. Vick didn’t do too well in his first game, but he also didn’t do terrible. There was some questionable play calling which didn’t help Vicks cause. I think Vick will do a little bit better against a mediocre Chargers team. I also expect the Steelers to rely on Bell a little more and try to get the ball to Antonio Brown more. If Steelers can do those things and the defense can make some stops I expect the Steelers to not only cover the number, but also possibly win the game.

Tony’s Pick: Steelers +4
