At last, fall is upon us! Brining in pumpkin spice everything, candy, and scary movies! Who doesn’t feel like staying in and watching a scary movie right about now? Stop watching that same movie you watch every year, you already do that at Christmas… instead take a look at the best horror movies on Netflix. And if you’re not one to watch a scary movie but you still want to get into the spirit of it all, flip on Goosebumps! But let’s have a look at that list, shall we?
10. The Babadook
I’m going to be honest the one time I saw this movie I was drunk, but I do remember it being a scary film. It definitely keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the movie and keeps you guessing as to what’s going to happen next. I definitely recommend throwing this film on at some point this month and cuddling with your significant other….even if that significant other is an animal or alcohol.
A cute (of course) deaf lady is alone at a house until some trouble arrives. This movie will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat, and make you sleep with one eye open!
All we need to say here is that this is a Duplass brothers film… yeah. It’s a little slow getting started with more than a few awkward moments. However, once it gets going it takes off. It might not be the scariest movie on this list, but it’s certainly the creepiest! Make sure you stay until the end, it will leave you walking away fully satisfied and fully creeped out!
Any film that has Dominic West in it will have great acting and a great story. The Awakening gives you just that, with a little scary factor in there too. Give this one a watch and you might piss your pants…
6. The Taking Of Deborah Logan
Almost good enough to keep you talking about it long after you watch it, a movie with a little misdirection, and fright. In fact, we are still afraid just bringing it back up. But, we don’t want to give away too much, other than this movie will jack you up!
5. Scream 2
This movie came in hot following the success of the first one a year prior. Does it hold up? Well, it’s good but not as good as the first one… then again, how many sequels are better than their original?
This movie stars a Wildling! Yes, that little hottie from Game of Thrones (the redhead, but not the red woman(yuck)), that’s right Rose Leslie is sexy and terrifying in this one. This is the ultimate movie for a new couple to watch, or not… Either way, whoever you watch it with, you’ll be crapping your pants…
Almost like an alternative who-dun-it like Clue. A group of strangers get stuck in an elevator…. with… the devil. Yeah this one that will get under your skin quick. It should have been a little better received, but we are over it. This is a solid movie that will keep you freaked out and completely entertained. It also has Geoffrey Arend who does amazing impressions… like the one below the trailer!
2. Dream House
This one has repeat value, not many scary movies have that feature. Not saying this is going to be played 25 times on your Netflix, but you would watch it two maybe three times. It has Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts after all. Yeah, this one may have snuck past you in 2011 when it came out. Another solid movie that will scare the shit out of you.
This is a horror movie classic! If you’ve never seen this film then I highly recommend doing so. This is the type of movie that’s so creepy that’ll stick with you for the next few days, and make it difficult to sleep at night. It’s a movie from 1973 but it’ll still give you nightmares! There’s a reason why this movie always makes the cut in lists talking about the top 10 horror movies of all time.
