We were under the impression that aliens swapped out the real Sandler with an imposter…
Let’s face it, the past handful of movies he’s made have been shit. If you’re not going to count movies like Grown Ups, which was a starter of these “let’s go on vacation but let’s film so the studio pays for it” bull shit, you can certainly count Jack & Jill, or Blended, or That’s My Boy. They suck and you know it. He knows it too.
We aren’t trying to bash Sandler, at the end of the day we are still fans of his. But it’s like when Jordan came back to the NBA. You know what old man, maybe your best days are behind you. However, The Do-Over, which was released on Netflix May 27th actually doesn’t suck. Before we go any further let us inform you that it was not a Sandler script. It was however a Happy Madison production, which is good enough for us to count it as another film of his. Don’t expect it to be amazing though, after all it is sitting at a 17% on Rotten Tomatoes. But if you consider he has movies like The Ridiculous Six at a 0%, it’s quite a leap in the right direction. And the audience has it at 53 by the way. Personally I’d put it more in the 60’s, but that’s just me.
But, don’t take our word for it, watch the trailer below and check it out for yourself on Netflix if you like it. If you don’t like it, there might be nothing more Adam Sandler could offer you.
