Week 2 Daily Fantasy Picks

The second Sunday of the NFL season is upon us which means it’s the second week for daily fantasy as well. I know your’e sick of all the commericals for Fanduel and Draftkings but that’s no reason not to play. There’s a lot of other annoying commercials you’ll see throughout football season.

If you haven’t read our guide to daily fantasy sports, please read before playing. Here’s our top picks for the week.

Big Cost, Big Points – Drew Brees (NO)

Drew Brees is at home against a Tampa Bay team that allowed four passing touchdowns to a rookie last week. Brees at home against a bad defense is always a good play.

Value Play – Jameis Winston (TB)

Jameis is one of the lowest priced starting QBs this week. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Bucs go down big to the Saints and are forced to throw the ball a ton. Winston should get Mike Evans back this week and the Saints allowed 300 yards and three touchdowns to Carson Palmer last week.

Others – Sam Bradford (PHI), Philip Rivers (SD)

Bradford’s price is still too low this week. Rivers threw for over 400 yards last week and is only the fifteenth highest priced QB.

Big Cost, Big Points – Marshawn Lynch (SEA)

Lynch had a decent game last week against one of the best defensive lines. It’s much easier to run on the Packers as Matt Forte showed last week. Expect Seattle to use a lot of Lynch to try to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field.

Value Play – Carlos Hyde (SF)

Hyde isn’t exactly a low priced option but his price hasn’t moved since Monday night’s game. He’s almost a must play against a below average Pittsburgh defense.

Others – Rashad Jennings (NYG), Ameer Abdullah (DET)

Both guys are going against weak defenses, are fairly priced, and should get a good number of touches.

Wide Receivers

Big Cost, Big Points – Antonio Brown (PIT)

I could probably just write in Julio Jones or Antonio Brown every week. They both get a ton of targets every week and are so talented that they usually make something with them. I like Brown a little better this week.

Value Play – Terrance Williams (DAL)

Williams is now the number one receiver in Dallas. They happen to be playing the Eagles, who play a very high paced game. Expect a lot passes from Romo and therefore targets for Williams.

Others – Jordan Matthews (PHI), Mike Evans (TB), Stevie Johnson (SD)

Matthews huge ten catch game on Monday did not affect his price for this week. He’s definitely Bradford’s favorite target. If Mike Evans plays this week he could have a huge game against the Saints defense. We said we liked Rivers this week. His second receiver still has a very low price.

Tight Ends

Big Cost, Big Points – Jimmy Graham (SEA)

Normally this spot would go to Gronkowski but he’s going against maybe the best defense in the league.Graham faces a much easier defense in Green Bay and is a lot cheaper than Gronk.

Value Play – Ladarius Green (SD)

We like Rivers, Gates is still out, he’s healthy, he’s cheap, and he had a nice game last week. A lot to like for Ladarius Green

Others – Jason Witten (DAL)

No Bryant means more Witten. We saw that last Sunday night.

Big Cost, Big Points – Rams

The Rams have an amazing defensive front and they are playing the turnover machine Kirk Cousins.

Value Play – Ravens

The Ravens did lose Terrell Suggs for the season but they should still be one of the better defenses in the league. They have a low price this week and are facing the lowly Raiders.

Others – Dolphins

The Dolphins defense is pretty good and they get to face the Jaguars. There’s a reason they’re the highest priced defense this week.
