Week 5 Daily Fantasy Picks

Daily Fantasy isn’t too popular right now. If the recent scandals and the annoying commercials are turning you away I understand. If you still want to play though, here our picks for week 5.

Big Cost, Big Points – Tom Brady (NE)

Brady’s been the best fantasy QB on a per game basis this season. The Cowboys defense is below average and Brady doesn’t seem to stop throwing, even with a big lead.

Value Play – Kirk Cousins (WAS)

Last week we gave you Kirk Cousins as a pick and he worked out great with a rushing and passing touchdown. This week he plays the high powered Falcons which means he should be throwing the ball a ton again.

Others – Jay Cutler (CHI), Drew Brees (NO)

I like the matchup for both these QBs I just don’t know if either is healthy. Play at your own risk.

Running Backs

Big Cost, Big Points – Leveon Bell

The Chargers can’t stop the run and they can’t cover receiving running backs. Bell is very expensive and won’t be a great value but he has the highest floor of any player this week.

Value Play – Boobie Dixon (BUF)

Dixon is the next man up for the Bills. He’ll get plenty of opportunities against a titans defense that’s weak against the run.

Others – Todd Gurley (STL), TJ Yeldon (JAX)

Gurley’s price is still low even after last week’s breakout game. TJ Yeldon, another rookie running back, has a nice matchup against the lowly Bucs.

Wide Receivers

Big Cost, Big Points – Larry Fitzgerald (ARI)

Fitzgerald is having an unexpected resurgence this year. The Lions aren’t great against the pass and I expect he’ll continue his great season.

Value Play – Dontrelle Inman (SD)

The Chargers second and third receivers are expected to miss Monday night’s game against the Steelers. Inman will have to step up as the second receiver. He did last week with a 68 yard reception against the Browns.

Others – Jordan Matthews (PHI), Reuben Randle (NYG)

Matthews faces the Saints and is still the number one receiver in Philadelphia. After a slow start, Randle has caught touchdowns in two consecutive games.

Tight Ends

Big Cost, Big Points – Rob Gronkowski (NE)

The Patriots have already had their bye so expect Gronkowksi’s name from here on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he scores twenty touchdowns this year.

Value Play – Charles Clay (BUF)

Clay had a big game last week. He’s still cheap.

Others – Martellus Bennett (CHI)

Bennett is still the go to receiver with Jeffery and maybe even Eddie Royal out too. He’ll get a lot of balls thrown to him this week.

Big Cost, Big Points – Broncos

The Broncos defense is the best in the league. The Raiders are improved but they’re still not a top tier offense.

Value Play – Jaguars

Just keep picking whoever Jameis Winston is playing. It’s a good strategy.

Others – Giants

“The 49ers have really struggled on offense this year”. That’s what I wrote last week. It’s still true.
