Zach Johnson wins the British Open

We told you an American named Johnson would win. I’m counting this as a win for us. Zach Johnson, not Dustin Johnson, won the British Open earlier today after winning a playoff against Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.

Dustin Johnson didn’t wait for the last hole to choke this time.  After leading the open after two rounds, Johnson shot three over in the third round knocking himself out of contention. He ended up in 49th place. Not good.

The winner of the previous two majors, Jordan Spieth, had a great third round, finishing only a shot out of first place. He set himself up for a great chance at winning his third major in a row. It was not to be for Spieth as he just missed a birdie try on the 18th and finished one shot out of the playoffs.

Australian Jason Day had another good tournament and finished tied for fourth with Spieth.
